Wikipedia.org: Digital Photography Notes Marissa Watson Mr. B Period 2

  1. Digital Photography: is a form of photography that uses an assort of electric photo detectors  to capture the image focused by the lens, as opposed to an exposure on film.
  2.  The file is saved on a computer file ready for digital downloading, printing, etc.
  3. The first true digital camera that recorded images as a computerized file was likely the Fuji DS-1P of 1988, which recorded to a 16 MB internal memory card that used a battery to keep the data in memory.
  4. Image Sensors: read the intensity of light
  5. Device memory cards and devices store the digital images
  6. Dynamic Range: the range of luminosity that can be reproduced accurately.
  7.  Highlights: of the subject that are too bright are rendered as white, with no detail
  8. Shadows: are too dark to be rendered as black
  9. Many camera phones and most digital cameras use memory cards having flash memory to store image data
  10. Camera phones and Digital cameras use SD Cards
  11. Lens Quality: resolution, distortion, dispersion
  12. The number of pixels n for a given maximum resolution (w horizontal pixels by h vertical pixels) is the product n = w × h.
  13. High dynamic range imaging (HDR) addresses this problem by increasing the dynamic range of images
  14. using exposure bracketing and post-processing the separate images to create a single image with a higher dynamic range
  15. In July 2003, digital cameras entered the disposable camera market with the release of the Ritz Dakota Digital, a 1.2 megapixel (1280 x 960) CMOS-based digital camera costing only $11 (USD).
  16. Digital Cameras have evolved the photography business from standard film cameras to totally digital.
  17. Popular websites based off of digital photography are: Photobucket, Flickr, and Picasa
  18. Disadvantages of Film cameras- The need to buy and develop film
  19. First Digital camera was  Kodak
  20. lens quality affects resolution

Worth1000 Photo Essay Marissa Watson Period 2 Mr.B

Manarola by ChrisYVionnet
I really like this picture because it reminds me of Greece. I like the vibrant colors that are intensified by the light. Also the way the water looks it very calming and peaceful. I also liked how the flowers on the bottom half of the photo add a "POP" of color to the soft colors in the top of the photo.

 Manhattan by N7000
I  like this picture it is captivating to anyone who would like to visit New York or who hasn't seen the true beauty of this gorgeous city. I like how even when the sun isn't fully down it still brings out as sense of tranquility to Manhattan.

Night Bridge by MaKsOZ
The night scene above the vivacious waterfront is illuminated by the moon and street lights. The bridge makes me nostalgic about the fun memories I had in Coronado as a child. The seemingly similar bridge has qualities like that of the famous San Diego blue bridge which is a main feature in the vast bay.
